" Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, 'This is my body, given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' "

– Luke 22:19

In communion, the faithful receive “the bread from heaven” and “the cup of salvation”, the Body and Blood of Christ who gave himself to give life to the world. In the Eucharist is found the action by which God sanctifies the world, and humanity gives praise to God.
